We were amazed and delighted about the interest, support and kind words from all our FB friends about Matt the Cat last week, he seems to have gone viral!! There has been a huge response to the story, and as such we wanted to update everyone on what has happened this week. As you know he was in a very sorry state when he came in, but after another week of TLC from our nursing team here at Well Animal Clinic we are pleased to say he has gone from strength to strength. He has grown in confidence, he is talkative, very friendly and when we are finished our surgical and medical procedures each day has the run of the clinic. He is now back to a good body weight and eating very well. We dont think he had ever been let outside, so earlier this week we took him out into our garden for his first ever taste of fresh air and sunshine! He was a little unsure at first but after a short period he seemed to relax, you can see him here enjoying it all! Matt will remain with us for the time being, he has a stainless steel wire in his jaw which will need removing in about 2 weeks by which time his broken jaw bones should have healed. He has been vaccinated and treated for worms, at least one thing he is certainly not at risk from in his current hairless state is fleas! Currently it is very likely that he will move in with our vet Christian LeVan and family for the time being. If anyone has a genuine interest in taking him on then please do let us know, and we can liaise with the RSPCA about officially re homing him. We can confidently say he is a lovely cat! rspca.org.uk/home
