We were running as fast as we could, running away from them. The rain seemed to be coming down in sheets and I was having a hard time navigating through the cluttered street. Then I heard three shots in rapid succession: Bang! Bang! Bang! I turned around just in time to see her crumple to the ground. I ran over to her and bent down grabbing her shoulders. I put my arms under hers and I began dragging her to the nearest ally way. I could feel her losing consciousness but I willed her to hold on. When we were safe in the ally, I looked at her bewilderedly. For a moment i just stared at the moonlight glistening off of the blood on her hoodie. I kneeled down by her side and took her broken body into my arms. None of it matters anymore, not now. I took her head in my hands and stroked her damp hair. Warm tears came streaming down my face as she looked up at me. Her breathing was soft, and shallow. She seemed so strong, even now, even when she was facing death. She stared at me with a sad smile on her face, and she was barely able to utter: I love you.
