We were transformed back in time last night, as we entered the vast Council Chamber. We felt like 3 naught schoolgirls walking into the knights of the round table. Or something out of a Harry Potter Movie we whispered are we allowed in? yes. We were shown to our chairs that we Joe Bloggs were allowed to sit. The show started everyone sitting round with their name plates on show, they obviously need remind of who they are ( I dont think they get many visitors, but I suppose it makes them feel important. We the Joe Public were asked if we had anything to say? Sandy was so brave, she started off, you have to stand up (as I say like being back at school) she was doing very well bless her, and then I joined the conversation too, whoops I forgot to stand up (but got away with it) The night went on and on and on and on, we came away at around 9. It was quite an entertaining evening watching the Councils arguing amongst themselves in some conversations. Mainly about the town and how it could be improved. At one point I went to speak, I was quite getting into it, especially around the ideas of playground space for school children in our area, they was missing vital point, I wanted to get it across. However I the Joe Public was reminded I wasnt allowed to speak ooo! sorry (bout right for me) however at the end of it all they, or one lady in particular (she was very nice) said maybe,e more Joe Blogs people should be able to put their point forward so that people outside know what is going on and the goals and aims of the Town Council. Urm yes.... if they want the support. In the end we decided to call it a day as we couldnt have freedom of speech and didnt want to hear anymore Agenda Drivel.And most importantly Sandy was missing Broadchurch oh no!! I have it on tape gal. So we sneaked away, we were thanked for turning up, by a few of the panel. There is one thing that is has taught me ( I definitely need to get a hearing aid, either that or the majority of them need a loud speaker couldnt hear a word they said most of the time lol.
