We have great cultural traditions and diverse passions. We have rich cultural history spans more than 4,500 years. Four world religions - Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism - originated here, whereas Judaism, Zoroastrianism, Christianity, and Islam arrived in course of time and also helped shape the regions diverse culture. We have 28 states and 7 union territories. There are 22 official language. But more than 1.2 billion people, speak with 1,635 in different recognized languages, their mother tongues .
