We were zigzagging our way home through the Catskills yesterday and I came across Platte Clove Rd. (closed Nov.-Apr.) on the map. Naturally, I said lets go that way. It became apparent very quickly why its not open in the winter. I found a video of some dudes with a go-pro snowboarding down this road. Youll notice the absence of guard rails for most of the way down... We crawled up it in a little Hyundai with a big pickup truck right behind us the whole way... Kinda scary.
