We would just like to thank all of you who have sent in your positive thoughts during the Evaulation process for our Elementary Rec players. Over at Studley in the morning session for the girls program, new Attleboro High varsity coach Rick Patch took over the gym. Installing his system of basketball skills and drills and also his high energy, fast paced approach to teaching. The girls came out in huge numbers and learned a lot from Coach Patch and several of his varsity girls players. The girls program is starting to build since we were able to merge with the SAGRA program and this year will mark the highest number of girls players in grades 1-8 in many many years. On the boys side, we had the 3rd and 4th graders show up in very large numbers. The best turnout for an evaluation in several years. Coach Mark Houle and his players got the kids started off with basic skills and some highly competitive KIng of the Court. The kids did great The day finished up back at Studley with the 1st and 2nd grade boys and implementing the basics of basketball. We kept the kids moving all afternoon and the energy they showed was AWESOME. We saw so many skilled players at such a young age that we were blown away. Again, with the help from boys high school players, we were able to really connect with these boys and show them how its done!! We are so fortunate to have such a strong youth basketball program in Attleboro right now and we thank all who signed up for this season. We will be stressing THE BASICS at the younger level this year in grades 1-4 with more skills and drills and also more practice time for the kids to grow as players.
