We would like again to congratulate Amritpal singh on his initiatives to help sikhs all over the world. In his restless mind he has come up with another project to help the sikh community. In a first of its kind initiative to provide a platform to Sikhs to find jobs in Gurdwaras worldwide, in a way similar to corporate executives spotting jobs through popular online employment portals, a web portal gurdwarajob/ has been launched at Fatehgarh Sahib, to provide information on vacancies for granthis, ragis, pathis, langris, sewadars etc in gurdwaras across the globe. This portal has details of over 1100 Gurdwaras worldwide and more are being updated, details of which you can see below: Asked as to what prompted him to develop the portal, Amrit said while working abroad, he had encountered several trained ragis, katha vachaks and ragi Sikh youths, who were cheated by agents by promising them jobs in gurdwaras but once they landed in the foreign land, there was actually no job for them. They were staying there illegally and were undergoing many hardships. They were cheated by agents back home for huge money for migrating them to these countries on the pretext of gurdwara jobs. Stating that the website would provide service free of cost, Amrit Pal Singh said numerous gurdwaras all over the world always require capable and efficient staff like ragis, pathis, granthis, langri, sewadar, katha vachak, computer operators, librarian, cashier, supervisor and managers. However, there are a large number of trained and talented people who want to serve in overseas gurdwaras but are unaware of the vacancies. So this portal will provide gurdwara managements worldwide, the platform to choose competent staff from the list of resumes posted by the job seekers and to post their vacancies to invite applications worldwide. Hence, this website will serve as a boon for everyone. The venture is founded by Amrit Pal Singh, who is a post-graduate in business administration and worked in companies in India and abroad and travelled extensively. He belongs to Mohali, near Chandigarh, India and it took him over nine years to develop the portal. Over the past many years, he got the directions from God himself to work on the cause for the welfare of the Sikh community and also to spread Sikhism worldwide so that it makes an impact in the life of a common Sikh. His other ventures are: retiredsikhs/ You are requested to kindly add your city gurdwaras by clicking on the option Add Gurdwara on the website so that this becomes the largest global platform in the world for gurdwaras.
