We would like to apologise to Barry M who had the misfortune to find that our standards had slipped somewhat on the scorching hot day yesterday. Despite his disappointment in our cafe I am however pleased to see that Barry also stopped over the road on the same scorching day, and found the welcome as warm as the fire inside. Not being cold like the pub we opted to use our aircon in the 80 degree heat but I have heard tales of such microclimates in the Lake District, I can only presume Crosthwaite Road is one such area. Keep up the good work Barry, I particularly liked your Sunderland review too. Did you know the pub landlords are from Sunderland? Its a small work isnt it.
