We would like to extend an invitation to Sydneysiders to join us next Sunday (23rd November) from 4 to 6pm for our Christmas Party and to welcome and meet and mingle with the artists and staff from Pormpuraaw Art and Culture Centre. They are being flown down for a Corroboree Event at the Australian Museum and are visiting Tali G as their representative Gallery in Sydney. The Museum is featuring ghost net artwork which we offer for sale at Tali G from several communities including Pormpuraaw and Erub in the Torres Straits. There are so many wonderful events included this year as the Festival has grown. Tali Gallery Artist, Anthony Walker is on the organising committee. The Hermannsburg watercolourists from Alice Springs will be holding a workshop at the Art Gallery of NSW (but not at Tali G this time around as they did earlier in the year); Astrophysicist Ray Norris who has convened talks several times about Aboriginal Astronomy at Tali G will be presenting; and there are weaving workshops, tours of Indigenous Art collection at the Art Gallery of NSW and much more.
