We would like to thank everyone for your thoughts, prayers, and texts after McKenzie’s car accident. It is clear to us that God’s angels were watching over her yesterday. She walked away from the accident with bumps, bruises, a broken arm, and a stronger faith in her God. McKenzie had surgery tonight to repair her broken arm and will hopefully be released sometime tomorrow. She is in good spirits and thankful to see family and friends as she knows only by God’s grace was her accident not much more serious. McKenzie was traveling West on Van Dorn going 5mph over the 55 MPH speed limit with her cruise control set, she looked over her left shoulder and then lost control swerving into the guardrail taking out about 10 feet of the rail, went down two steep embankments, the vehicle then went airborne and came to rest on the driver’s side on train tracks below the road. McKenzie tells us she started to pray the second she lost control and then again thanked God she was alive when the vehicle came to a stop. McKenzie realized she landed on busy train tracks and needed to get out of the car. She found her lunch pail and used her ice pack to try to break out the windshield creating only a small hole. She saw blood and started to panic followed by more fright when she realized she could see the light of an oncoming train. McKenzie tells us she gave herself a pep talk, asked God to help her, and told herself she was not ready to die. She then stood up and tried to open the passenger door with both hands and realized her left arm was just “hanging” and would not work. Somehow she opened the door with her right arm, wedged the visor in the jam with her teeth, and pulled herself up out of the car. She slid off the vehicle, climbed up the 35 foot embankment and waved for help. A kind gentleman stopped to help and called 911. The sheriff stated that he had to issue a ticket since there was damage to property (guard rail). Psalm 91:9-119 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; McKenzie was certainly guarded by God’s angels and we sincerely thank all of the earthly angels that have taken care of her, prayed for her, and lifted our spirits. Tell your family and friends you love them and remember to take nothing for granted. Love and hugs! The Beach Family
