We would move heaven and earth to rescue a girl caught in a well. We did do that one time. Thank goodness we did. There are thousands of girls trapped by RETT SYNDROME. It deserves more publicity and more money for research. Those girls CAN BE RESCUED. Girls are born seemingly perfectly normal. They laugh and play and interact with their families. They begin to talk and crawl and walk and feed themselves and play with toys. And then it stops. They lose whatever theyve accomplished. Usually at about a year. Then silence. Then they lose the use of their hands. Then there are seizures. And screeching. Some have to be helped to even breathe. Theyre trapped inside a body that has turned on them through no fault of their own. No fault of anyones. The amazing thing is that research with mice shows that it CAN be REVERSED. Mice affected with RETT SYNDROME have been given a miracle shot and regained what they had lost. They run around like healthy mice. They ARE healthy mice again. Why arent we doing this for little girls? (Its almost always girls.) My hope is that the United States will move heaven and earth to save THESE GIRLS from this entrapment. We need to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to save these girls. Google it: RETT SYNDROME. And give to the research.
