Wearing a hoodie in Oklahoma could cost you a fine of $500 if one - TopicsExpress

Wearing a hoodie in Oklahoma could cost you a fine of $500 if one state legislator gets his way. Imagine that, having to pay a fine for wearing an item of clothing, as if that item alone is in some way responsible for the commission of a crime, or even worse, based on a mere suspicion of a future crime being committed. How ridiculous is that? On a different yet related matter, it has been established by a respectable segment of America that the KKK is a domestic terrorist organization, established specifically to violently engage black Americans as well as other groups in this country that its membership deems unacceptable in their eyes. As its uniform, members of the KKK are clearly identified as they proudly wear their white hoods and robes in public as a means of intimidating all those that theyre known to hate, but especially black people. I raise the issue of the Klans uniform for the obvious reason. As long as weve known what the Klans white hoods and robes really stand for, as well as our collective understanding that they are a domestic terrorist organization, why has there not been any proposal to outlaw - or charge a fine - for the wearing of a terrorist organizations costume in public? Wearing a white hood and robe identifies you immediately as a terrorist; one who is steeped in racial hate. A hoodie on the other hand, does not identify the wearer as a criminal or a car salesman, yet the person wearing that hoodie is made to pay fine of $500 for mere suspicion of committing a crime. Seriously, does any of this makes sense to anyone? Just asking. But of course, we all know the real reason behind the outlawing of hoodies, dont we?
