Weather Bulletin Number THREE Tropical Cyclone Alert: Tropical Depression "MARING" Issued at 11:00 p.m., Saturday, 17 August 2013 Tropical Depression " MARING " has maintained its strength as it continues to move in an East Southeast direction Location of Center: (as of 10:00 p.m.) 410 km East of Itbayat, Batanes Coordinates: 20.4°N, 126.2°E Strength: Maximum winds of 55 kph near the center Movement: East Southeast at 11 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Sunday evening: 640 km East of Itbayat, Batanes Monday evening: 850 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes Tuesday evening: 1020 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes No Public Storm Warning Signals Raised Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 10 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. "MARING" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms over the western section of Luzon. Fishermen specially those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, western seaboard of Central Luzon, and over the seaboard of Cavite, Mindoro Occidental, and over the western coast of Batangas due to the possible big waves generated by the enhance Southwest Monsoon. The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
