Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles Issued: 6:00 AM on Sunday, June 23, 2013 A ridge of high pressure will continue to dominate conditions today generating mostly fair conditions. An increase in cloudiness with scattered showers is expected by tonight with the approach of a westward moving tropical wave. Most of the significant shower activity associated with this wave is expected across the extreme southern section of the island chain. Meanwhile, another westward moving tropical wave located in the Atlantic Ocean is expected to approach the area by Tuesday. Moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with swells peaking near 8.0 feet. A further increase in swells is expected by Tuesday with swells peaking near 10.0 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution. (WEATHER.GOV.DM)
