Weather Situation - A high pressure system over southeastern Australia will move over the northern Tasman Sea today, maintaining a ridge over eastern New South Wales, while a weakening trough approaches the west. A trough is expected to brush the south of the state on Wednesday followed by a new high moving into the southern Tasman Sea. A second, stronger trough is likely to cross western NSW Thursday then weaken as it moves through eastern parts during Friday. Forecast for Wednesday - Patchy fog about the Upper Hunter early in the morning. Sunny day. Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between 4 and 8 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s. Forecast for Thursday - Mostly sunny. Light winds becoming northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 10 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s. Forecast for Friday - The chance of showers during the morning, then a sunny afternoon. Winds north to northwesterly 15 to 25 km/h turning westerly 20 to 30 km/h during the day then decreasing to 15 to 20 km/h during the afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 9 and 12 with daytime temperatures reaching 24 to 29. Forecast for Saturday - Partly cloudy. Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between 7 and 11 with daytime temperatures reaching the low to mid 20s. (Source: BOM)
