Weather Situation A high pressure system over New South Wales will weaken on Monday as a cold front approaches from the west. This front will enter the far southwest later tonight and move through the state during Tuesday bringing gusty strong to gale force winds and rain areas, mostly on and west of Divide. This event will be followed by a second, weaker front on late Wednesday. Behind the front another high pressure ridge is expected to develop across southeastern Australia on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of Monday Partly cloudy. Winds northerly 25 to 30 km/h, increasing to 30 to 50 km/h in the evening. Tuesday 1 October Cloudy. Rain developing during the morning, becoming less widespread in the late afternoon, clearing at night. Rain falling as snow above 1700 metres during the late afternoon and evening. The chance of thunderstorms from the early morning. Winds northerly 35 to 50 km/h turning west to northwesterly 35 to 55 km/h in the morning then decreasing to 20 to 30 km/h in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 10 and 14 with daytime temperatures reaching between 15 and 21. UV Alert from 8:50 am to 3:10 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 7 [High]
