Weather Situation: A large high in the Tasman Sea extends a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast. The high will slip to the southeast of New Zealand during today, gradually relaxing the ridge. A slow moving surface trough extends from the northwest of the state into the southern interior. An upper level trough will move east over southeastern Queensland today. A weak tropical low (Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hadi) lies over the northwestern Coral Sea and is expected to shift west over Cape York Peninsula during today and through the northern Gulf of Carpentaria during the weekend. Wide Bay and Burnett Forecast: Forecast for the rest of Friday: Partly cloudy. Isolated showers contracting to Fraser Island during the evening. Winds southeasterly 20 to 30 km/h turning easterly 15 to 25 km/h in the morning. Daytime maximum temperatures around 30.
