Weather Update 02: This is an information bulletin from the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security – TEMCO issued at 8am Wednesday, June 5th. Due to the current severe weather conditions we are experiencing the public is advised to exercise extreme caution when traveling throughout the island. Flooding due to heavy rainfall is likely to cause landslides along mountainous areas and flooding of streams and roadways with occasional thunder and lightning. Please be very cautious while outdoors Stay tuned to your radio for further information from the National Weather Service as they monitor this weather situation. A Small Craft advisory has already been issued for American Samoa coastal waters and is now in effect. Heavy rains can also cause extensive flooding in both coastal and inland areas. Take appropriate precautions and stay tuned in for further bulletins.
