Weather Update 3/27/14.. Dans calling for a bit of a break, then more Saturday. A Break in Accumulations Until Saturday... Accumulations were light during the day yesterday but picked up overnight. Most areas around the resort received from 8 to 14 inches since yesterday morning to add to the few inches that fell Tuesday night. Activity is decreasing this morning as dynamics have decreased. Moisture will continue to move through today, but any additional accumulations will be light, up to around 2 inches. Little or no accumulations are expected overnight. Highs today in the mid 20s to around 30. Morning southwest winds to 20 mph, to 35 mph on the ridges with higher gusts. Clouds continue on Friday as strong moisture moves into the Pacific Northwest. Light snow showers or possible sprinkles at the base are possible in the afternoon as the air mass warms due to the sub-tropical source of the incoming moisture. Precipitation chances increase overnight as snow levels lower to just below the resort. Any accumulations by sunrise Saturday will be light, mostly in the 1-3 inch range at this time. Lows in the 20s, highs in the 30s. Southwest ridge winds to 20 mph, light elsewhere. The main batch of moisture will move through on Saturday with cooler air filtering in during the afternoon or evening. Snow levels are expected to remain just below the resort in the morning, then fall further in the afternoon. Accumulations by the evening are currently in the 6-12 inch range, with a few extra inches possible overnight. Morning temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s, falling into the 20s in the afternoon. Southwest winds to 20 mph with higher gusts, to 40 mph on the ridges with higher gusts. Other than a chance of morning snow showers, a break is expected on Sunday. Little or no additional accumulations are expected during the day and evening. Lows in the 20s, highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Southwest winds decreasing. Snow chances increase on Monday morning as another system moves into Northern California. At this time, accumulations by sunrise Tuesday are in the 8-12 inch range. Temperatures mostly in the 20s to around 30, then falling in the afternoon. Southwest winds once again increasing. Snow showers on Tuesday in the cool air behind the front. Light additional accumulations are possible during the day with accumulations ending by sunset. Lows in the upper teens to low 20s, highs in the 20s. Partial clearing and dry conditions are expected on Wednesday.
