Weather Warning: 12:06 PM PST Thursday 06 March 2014 Special weather statement in effect for: Haida Gwaii Heavy rain for the BC coast this weekend. A Pacific storm with subtropical moisture will arrive on the North Coast Friday afternoon and the South Coast Friday night bringing significant rainfall. For most regions 50 - 100 mm is expected with 100+ mm possible across West Vancouver Island. The storm will also bring very strong southeast winds to the North Coast and Haida Gwaii beginning Friday afternoon. Also, with the influx of warm subtropical air the freezing levels will rise above most highway mountain passes. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended.
