Showers will become frequent near the coast, heavy at times with squally winds. Further west, fewer showers and much colder than recent nights. Minimum Temperature 3 C. Thursday: Feeling cold in strong northwesterly winds, with gales in the east, especially on coasts. Outlook for Friday to Sunday: Largely dry and sunny on Friday but with showers across southeastern England. Through the weekend, rain will affect many parts of England and Wales. Staying cold and windy. UK Outlook for Sunday 13 Oct 2013 to Tuesday 22 Oct 2013: Northwestern areas will stay mostly dry with some sunshine at times on Sunday and into next week. Temperatures by day here will be close to or just above normal, but there will be a chance of overnight frost. Further south and east, it will generally be cloudier and quite chilly, with some rain at first, particularly across southern and eastern England. Through next week, the drier and brighter conditions further northwest will gradually spread across much of the UK. There are then likely to be some early morning fog patches, which may be locally slow to clear. Temperatures by then should be close to normal for mid-October, although some overnight frost is still possible. Towards the end of the period, it will probably become more unsettled again.
