Weather update from Kevin: There will be scattered showers and sunny spells this afternoon. Some of the showers will be heavy and there is also a risk of thunder and hail in the heaviest showers. Light or moderate northwesterly winds will be fresh to strong around the north coast and over west Cornwall. Max 12. Tonight: Some showers will continue around the coast and over west Cornwall and some will also continue to be quite heavy at times with an ongoing risk of hail and thunder. However, elsewhere it will be drier with clearer skies and therefore quite cold as a result, particularly for areas away from the coast to the east. Winds will be from the north or northwest and mainly light or moderate, but still stronger further west. Min 4. Wednesday: The showers affecting west Cornwall will become less frequent and not as heavy, while the remainder of Cornwall becomes mainly dry with spells of sunshine. North to northwesterly winds will still be stronger further west, but will ease during the day. Max 13.
