Wed like to introduce you to sweet and sassy Adoptable EmmLou - TopicsExpress

Wed like to introduce you to sweet and sassy Adoptable EmmLou (Who-who), a pint-sized DogsXLer looking for a foster or forever home. She is 5-6 months and about 35 lbs. Want a dog that has the energy to hang with you for a walk/hike/jog or who can do back-yard zoomies galore, but then settle down quietly for the day? If so, sweet EmmaLou may be right for you. She loves to give kisses, and if you sit down next to her on the floor, she will help herself to your lap in 5...4...3...2...1...and assume the position for belly rubs (yep! It happens that fast--consider yourself warned.) Dont let her cuteness fool you, though, shes also a got sassy streak. She will steal any socks, slippers, or plush toys that you forget to put away and has a unique behavior of air-clacking, which she does relatively regularly when corrected or when shes very excited--its kind of like a teenager talking back. Shes still got a lot of puppy in her, and playful should be her middle name. Whether its zoomies around the back-yard (or living room couches!), pouncing on/playing chase with other dogs, or playing with squeaker toys/bones, if something is fun, she wants in on the action. That said--unlike super young puppies, shes a good sleeper who quickly settles for a workday or a long nights sleep. She does OK in the crate, though its not her favorite place, and she will protest by whining/barking for few minutes before settling. She does just as well baby-gated in a kitchen or similar small space and seems to prefer that, as she settles without any whining or barking. When she wakes up, she greets you with happy tail wags and a smiley dog face. She quickly goes potty outside every time she is taken out, but she is still learning house rules and does have occasional accidents when not watched carefully or kept on a schedule. Shes also a bit of a jumper, so she may be best with kids over age 5 and adopters with no fence at all or a 6-foot fence (she hasnt tried to scale a 4-foot fence yet, but we think shes capable). Got spunk and need a companion? If EmmaLou sounds like your kind of dog, fill out an application for this cute speckled pup today! dogsxlrescue.org/adopt
