Wed like to remind you that this evenings candle lighting time is 7:05 in Phoenix, AZ. Thank you again for helping to spread the light -- and Shabbat Shalom from Chabad of Arizona! How do we respond to darkness? With joy. The holiday considered by the Talmud to be the greatest festival of the Jewish year is this coming Monday, the 15th of Av. While last Shabbat preceded the 9th of Av, the day when the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed, this Shabbat we anticipate the happiest day on the Jewish calendar. The 15th of Av marks events that brought joy, unity and consolation to the Jewish people during the times of the First and Second Temples. This Shabbat, known as the Shabbat of Consolation that follows the 9th of Av, is a special time to meditate on joy and unity. What can we do to love our fellow just a little bit more? How can we feel a stronger bond with our Creator? What can we do to express our support for our sisters and brothers in Israel at this time? Have a meaningful, peaceful, and comforting Shabbat from Chabad of Arizona!
