Wednesday 22nd January, 2014 IF YOU MUST GO UP YOU MUST GROW UP. Luke 2:40, 52; Gal 4:1-4; Luke 3:21-22 Growth and maturity are two major requirements for onward and upward journey. God demands that we grow up so that He can really bring us up to where we ought to be in Him. He is so concerned about our spiritual development and all round divine progress as these will form a basis for the kind of height He can entrust us to. No one entrust a man with resources beyond the maturity quotient of such individual. Even though Jesus was born by the power of the Holy Spirit, He could not step into the full height of His destiny until He grew into same. Jesus was not confirmed from heaven as Gods beloved son until He fulfilled the conditions of bearing that identity. Jesus told the disciples that there were many things He would have shared with them but that they do not have the capacity to bear same. God does not entrust with resources and responsibility beyond his capacity and maturity. Even till now, the Holy Spirit does not reveal revelations for our elevation beyond our growth and maturity. Growth and maturity in the kingdom is not a function of age or number of years in the faith, it is function of how much of Christ we have imbibed and become. It is function of how much of Gods grace we have imbibed, maximised and appropriated. An immature son and a slave are ranked at the same level in the scriptures (Gal 3:1). At this level, the son though legally a son is not entitled to the possession, privileges and powers of a son. He has to proof himself to be worth same. Brethren, it is time to break free from any thing that hampers our growth into Christhood and Christlikeness. We have to feed and exercise our spirit, soul and body aright such that we may be approved by God for the next phase of our journey. We have do away with childishness and embrace childlikeness. We must proof to God that we are ready for the next level by our commitment to our growth and progress in the path of light. Prayers: Father please help me maximise all the resources available for my growth and development in this path of light that I may be fit for where You are taking me to. Amen!!!
