Wednesday, New Years Eve Today was a very quiet day. They have started a lasix to rid excess fluids from Dougs body. He rested comfortably and was so great to hear first thing this morning that the ventilator was turned off!! He is breathing completely on his own. What a Huge step! The tubes are still in and they explained they will be listening for a leak sound around the tubes to know the swelling in his throat has gone down. His face was much thinner today and swelling down on his body. His fever continues to hover between 100-101. Not high but consistent. With all procedures and surgeries in the last few days, this is not uncommon. They explained he still responds to Tylenol which is good. The control for our bodies heating and cooling is at the top central part of our brain and they said this does not respond to Tylenol. Just the fact that Dougs will is awesome I was applying moisture to his lips and he started moving them because it tickled. When I spoke and applied slightly more pressure he seemed to like it. Cherish those little moments! Prayers: Continued fluid and swelling reduction For more awareness to be exhibited Fever to break and stay down Keith Parnell visited with us a couple of times today. His mother-in-law is a floor up from Doug. She has had a brain tumor and was having chemo. I asked if it would be okay to put her on here for prayer. He said he and his wife would love this. Please pray for her as you lift Doug up. What a Mighty God we serve! Thought so much of our Church Family tonight as they shared communion and prayer time together. This candlelight service is one of my favorites. Happy New Year to all of our family and friends. Much love to all Nadine
