On Thursday, September 4, the fun of this years Cotton Fest will begin at 5.00 p.m. Of special note is the fact that this years carnival tickets will be sold on a day-to-day basis instead of armband coupon book like we have had in the past. On Saturday, there will actually be two tickets needed if anyone wants to partake of carnival rides in both the morning 10am -5pm slot and then again in the afternoon/night 5pm-midnight time frame. Advance tickets will be on sale in front of Brookshire Bros. from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, August 30, from 4-8pm on Tuesday, September 2, from 4-8pm on Wednesday, September 3 for $18.00 each. After these dates, the tickets will have to be purchased from the Waggoners carnival ticket booth at the price of $22.00 each, so you will incur a $4.00 savings by buying your tickets early. Tickets will also be on sale at American National Bank Cramdall, Inkit Printing, and Crandall Pharmacy during business hours Aug. 27th - Sept. 3rd. Two new main events will be taking place at this years Cotton Fest. There will be Cow Patty Bingo, sponsored by our local FFA and on Sunday, September 7, starting at 2pm, on the Cotton Fest center stage, there will be a Hot Dog Eating Contest, sponsored by Brookshire Bros. Pick up your entry form at Brookshire Bros. There will be prizes offered to the winners of this contest. We anticipate various age groups to participate in this new event. The winners will be announced on stage at the conclusion of the contest
