Wednesday. So.... the whole hipster thing , everyone hates hipsters , seems to me its a fairly unimaginative apparently derogatory term for just about any body thats slightly off center in their music or fashion tastes , and I suppose now people generally identify as individuals rather than a member of a clan or youth culture with a distinct obvious look and a particular style of music ...like say teddy boys or punks , which was outside the norm but had a definite recognisable aesthetic and a name that was accepted by both members and non members , and I suppose aligning to any of those clans had certain boundaries and a fairly narrow musical vein to mine , so isnt it just an evolutionary step in youth culture for kids to just wanna be cool and dig a broader spectrum of cool shit with less restrictions ? Isnt that a good thing ? It seems peacefull and intelligent . Obviously there are dicks , but there are dicks everywhere , and Im fairly certain the hipster thing will fade and make way for the next big thing as fashions do , and in a couple of decades time it will have been repackaged by vintage rose tinted Ray Bans and by then , maybe what appears now as a slightly style over content pointless fad will have revealed its significance and influence . Be cool.
