Wednesday is Diggers Member’s Garden day! And today we’re featuring the garden of Sarah from Shenton Park WA. Sarah says: My name is Sarah and Im a Diggers member from Shenton Park in Perth, Western Australia. Ive always wanted my own edible garden, but was unable to after years of living at home (where mum only wants roses) and renting. This year I moved in with my partner and after two weeks of solid weeding, digging and pruning managed to salvage his overgrown weed and couch grass garden (see the attached pictures) to a foundation for planning out my first crops. Now, 4 months later I have a wonderful piece of edible heaven in our front garden in suburbia-currently Im growing squashes, corn, tomatoes, beets, lettuce, carrot, garlic, lemon trees, cucumber, strawberries and many more! Im still learning but it’s been well worth it and I cant wait to plan out my next rotation. The back garden is my next project too!
