Wednesday is the deadline to submit nominations for Vincennes University’s 2015 Walter A. Davis Memorial Citation. A detailed biographical profile and letters of support are required. Nomination materials may be sent to Jennifer Gilmore, Director, VU Alumni Association, Vincennes University, 1002 N. First St., Vincennes IN 47591. Since 1952 the citation has been presented to persons who have given outstanding service to their community. Recipients must be either a VU graduate or a resident of the greater Vincennes area (approximately a 45-mile radius). Recipients are selected by a committee representing the VU Alumni Association, VU Board of Trustees, VU Foundation, Vincennes community, and a past recipient of the Davis Citation. Recent recipients include Pat Summers, Gus Stevens, Rowe Sargent, Frank Ladner, George Ridgway, Rabb Emison, Bob Grumieaux, Jim Gislason and Shirley Rose while previous award winners include Judge Sydney Gelb, C. James McCormick, Isaac K. Beckes, Robert E. Green, and Judge Curtis G. Shake, the first recipient of the award in 1952.
