Week #12 of training of 2014. From 0 to 26.2 in 1 year. From Craughwell 10 mile on Sunday with a new pb of 1:26. Beaming of course. Monday is always Boot camp I was happy to hear it was toning night, we still got a good sweat up, but mainly toning. I felt it on Tue I tell you that much. I toned parts of the body I didnt know existed. Wed was insanity training, Thurs was interval training. I had a 10km run on Sat morning in Ennis. Meet up with the usual Nuala Jean & Sharon. we all got our bibs and t-shirts. We went for a stroll to the shop the girls wanted a coffee & tea. I didnt have any. So we went back to the cars, got changed and took the ritual taken of pictures. We headed to the start area, not many around, we were thinking was there many going to turn up. We started up on a side road where we were kept for a few mins due to last min people coming up. We got a few health and safety warnings stay to the left as we were on public roads and they were not closed off. We got a count down, and away we went. It was a good course, I was hoping for a good run, I came to marker 1km, and it had a inspirational quote to help you along your way. It was great to read them along our journey. I took off with 45 min pacer I was ok as I started off, I knew I could come in under the 50min time. The 50 min pacer passed me out on my way around next min he stopped he was going too fast, he was telling us this as he stopped up. I was coming up to km 8 and he passed again I was like what the hell is going on I was around 48/49 min to make it back in that time. The 50 min pacer came up long side me and a few others we were in a pack, he was telling us push it push you are all doing very well to come in under the 50 mins. We were on the home straight coming into Ennis town again. I had 2 long side me who were going as fast as me, It was exciting as I turned the corner for the finish line I could see the clock 49.20 I pushed it as hard and ran as fast. I over took the other 2 and got over the line in 49:40. I was given my medal. I had meet Jean who got in a min before me, then Nuala a min after me and Sharon came in at a great pace of 56 she took 2 mins off her previous pb, We all hugged and congratulated each other. We even got the after picture with big red heads on us. I got to meet John Q, nice guy great meeting up with him. He came in at a great time on a new pb himself, well done... We went in queued up for tea and coffee. it was busy inside we had a sandwich and biscuit. I noticed the results sheets were up and we went over to look up our official times. I seen mine, Sharon did and Jean was like I came in 2nd were trilled with her, on talking with others we found out Jean actually came in first overall on her age category, we then checked Nuala and she came first in her age category so we had 2 very over the moon women. We went to find someone official as we wanted to see was this correct. It was indeed. We waited for the plaque ceremony. The girls were called in there groups. It was great to see. We all got back to the cars and changed. Nuala and myself stopped off at Supermacs for Nuala, I was starving, so I got a cone and Nuala was like what about me, and we both had one. It was lovely. I have Connemara half next Sunday. I am staring off a new 6 week Boot-Camp program this week as I finished last 6 on Thurs. I kept a log of everything over the past 6 weeks and how far I have come from working out with Better body boat camp, it really does make a difference. So until next time. Fingers crossed for next Sunday for me for a good time.
