Week 2 of recovery...... not sure I can stand being home for the rest of the year. My physician is on vacation but shall have a word when he gets back. Cannot get my feet warm - any ideas? Yes, heat is on and I am wearing 2 pairs of socks. This next part is NOT meant to be morbid! Prior to operation I went to my local funeral home (well.......... someone had to get it sorted in case). Now we are talking of a cremation: £8,000 plus + I kid you not. When I then explained I wanted the cheapest the fun started. Now I was talking to a woman not that it makes any difference. She reminded me of a RE teacher in Germany we called Doll Face -- expression never changed even when I told her it was potentially for me. Vicar - £85 ---out Organ music £65 ---- out Flower arrangement handled ---out Newspaper notices.......... out and the list goes on & on Am then told that with an Inexpensive arrangement I would not be able to chose the time of service. It would either be held Tuesday, Thursday before 10:30 am or after 3pm. Now, that stopped me in my tracks! I then told her not to worry, I would not have a conflicting appointment. (No facial change on her part!) There would be no music....... I assured her my friends would capable of providing it via a car stereo. Except for my transport NO limos would be provided --- such a scandal !! So bottom line you ask? £2,500 plus £489 for the crematorium AND £157 for the needed 2 physicians signature. The list of what is not included goes on and on. Oh example - NO visiting out of office hours :) Had a real laugh when a colleague sent me a link to coffins direct :) Who needs a platinum funeral when I can go out laughing?
