Week 3, In His Presence, His Beautiful Presence, Day 1, The Invitation Sheryl wrote, that this week, we will enter Gods Presence through Worship. And as we come boldly into His Presence, let us be confident that each one of us will find the rest and relaxation that our hearts are longing for. These words remind me of my Life Verse which comes from Psalm 27:4-6: One thing I ask from The LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in The House of The LORD all the days of my life, TO GAZE on The Beauty of The LORD and to seek Him in His Temple. For in the day of trouble, He will keep me safe in His Dwelling; He will hide me in The Shelter of His Sacred Tent and set me high upon a rock. Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at His Sacred Tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to The LORD. Hallelujah!! Let us now begin with Day 1, The Invitation. For, as Sheryl wrote, Our God has always been big on INVITATIONS. He invited Moses to the top of the mountain, where the radiance of His Glory was profoundly displayed. Exodus 19:1-25 God invited Noah and family into the Ark to escape death. Genesis 7:1-24 And the Israelites were asked (invited) to witness The Mighty Hand of God as young David slew the giant, Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:1-51 The disciples were summoned, (or invited) to follow Jesus, according to Matthew 4:18-19, and the shepherds were issued an invitation to COME AND BEHOLD THE KING OF KINGS in a cradle. Luke 2:8-15 Jesus offered Peter an invitation to step out of the boat and walk towards Him. Matthew 14:22-29 And the whole world has been called (or invited) to The Cross to received Eternal Life. John 1:12 Sheryl asked us to think of an Invitation you answered which had an extraordinary influence on our lives. What were the circumstances and how did it change your life? As believers, I can almost promise you that we all heard The Call, The Invitation from Jesus to COME and FOLLOW Him. Now we are going to consider another CALL, which is The Call to COME AND WORSHIP HIM. Now please consider with me, that this Invitation to come and worship Our God was so important, that He gave instructions to His People to build Him A Sanctuary, that He might dwell among them. Exodus 25:8-9 Sheryl wrote that the Hebrew word for Sanctuary in this passage means A Sacred Place, A Place set aside by men upon Gods direction and acceptance as The Place where He meets them and they WORSHIP HIM. This Place God chose for Himself was called The Tabernacle, and each time the Israelites moved sites in the desert, The Tabernacle would be taken down and then reassembled in their new place of residence. Sheryl has asked us to read Exodus 33:7-11 and answer the following questions: 1.) What was at the entrance to the tent? 2.) How did the people respond? and 3.) How did God and Moses communicate with each other. Sheryl then wrote that as Moses led Gods Chosen People out of Egypt, one of the first recognizable signs of His Presence was the Pillar of Cloud by day and the Pillar of Fire by night. Exodus 13:22 It was interesting to note that her heart leapt when she read that all stood and worshipped, according to verse 10. And she then asked, could it be that it was The Presence of The LORD that brought them to Worship? For they seemed to be FILLED with inexpressible words. For Gods Radiance overwhelmed them to such a point that all they could do was Worship! Do you believe this kind of Worship is possible today, Sheryl asked? Both of us are confident that the answer to this question is YES!! I have experience this Worship so many times that it has left me speechless, and wanting to prostrate my heart and my body before my Beloved Creator! Sheryl also suggested, that perhaps every time we enter into Worship, we need TO ASK GOD TO OPEN OUR SPIRITS TO HIS UNLIMITED PRESENCE. For His Presence is wherever He is! And when you open the door to His Presence, His Holiness and Sovereignty are touched! Tomorrow, we are going to consider more about Worshipping our God, but in the meantime, please consider Sheryls words: I find it intriguing that Moses talked to God Face to face, as a man speaks with his friend. All of us should desire a relationship with Our God where we shall have the after-glow on our faces just like Moses, which only came after he experienced the Beauty of Gods Friendship and His Magnificent and Glorious Presence. Dear Ones, it is called Total Devotion and Love for The One Who holds are hearts in His nail-pierced Hands. He is Our Saviour Who was willing to die on Calvarys horrible Cross because His highest desire was to bring us Home to His Father. There is no Greater Love than this! This love at times makes me weep because it is so Selfless and Beautiful! Sweet Blessings on this, The Day that Our LORD has made. So let us rejoice and be glad in it! Elsie
