Week 4 of eating only meat, vegetables, fruit, nuts No dairy, grain, sugar, 30 days I love it. Conscious eating. Fun! Stopping sugar is yielding happy results...even energy and sunnier outlook. Deep sleep. What I find troubling is the expense. Its amazing how cheaply one can eat on a grain based diet, notably pasta, rice, & bread. And finding anything with no added sugar is a task...even almond butter. To think that its far cheaper in this country to eat pre-packaged, canned, prepared foods than it is to eat plain old real food is a shame. And it makes me wonder about this nations investment in illness. Were it not for the most common, often sugar-derived illnesses like diabetes, obesity, and related health problems, our health care industry would fail. Health insurance companies, drug companies, hospital systems...theyd all fail if we were healthy.
