Week 6 update for Columbus cross country summer running challenge: Columbus XC “Cats” Start Second half of Summer Challenge! You may be a Cross Country team member if you “put more miles on your shoes than you do your car”. At the start the second half of the summer challenge, your “Wildcats” shoe odometers continued to rapidly add up the summer miles again this week. After six weeks of the “Summer XC Challenge – Run to Fort Dodge”, they have now accumulatively logged 1,233 miles. For the individual hypothetical run to Fort Dodge, junior Eli Sents leads the group with a total of 105.1 miles. Eli is closely followed by Kylie Marin with 97.4 miles, and Claire Hamilton with 96.0 miles. Eli (105.1 miles) became the first participant to achieve the Century Club, by having logged 100 plus miles during the challenge. Kylie and Claire will achieve this success level during the next week. After another great team performance in week six, the top seven girls’ mileage leaders are: Kylie Marin with 97.4 miles, Claire Hamilton 96.0 miles, Taylor Hills 83.3 miles, Ashley Canny 66.4 miles, Grace Chapman 53.6 miles, Jenessa Carpenter (8th Grade) 49.1 miles, Alondra Solis 47.0 miles, and just off the number seven position, is Jasmine Alvarez with 46.4 miles. The top seven boys are: Eli Sents with 105.1 miles, Josh Keller 72.0 miles, Adrian Santos 57.2 miles, Dalton Howell with 46.6 miles, Anthony Garcia 40.0 miles, Kevin Fernandez 24.5 miles, and Ben Smith (8th Grade) 22.3 miles.
