Week 7 of 10 This weeks theme is - Freestyle Plenty of one arm swim drills so you can focus on one arm stroke at a time and develop more distance per stroke. Be patience at the front of the strokes, holding the water before pulling it behind you. https://youtube/watch?v=N8glIi2jSw0 • Long, firm and high bodies travel through the water the fastest. • Long, straight legs, with floppy toes making bubbles at the surface. • Straight opposite arms. • A strong paddle (elbow to finger tips) pushing the water underneath to create a strong pull. SWIM STAR Working on tumble turns developing speed into and out of the walls Water Babies & Toddler Turtles Challenging balance • Can we do our activities on the treasure island on one foot? • Can we balance on the noodles for motor boats on our front then swing our legs underneath to float on our back? • Can we jump into the pool from the wobbly bridge sideways and backwards? Can we roll in from a sausage roll? • Can we balance sitting astride a noodle. Looking for the next level of skill when you see their ready...... • not catching off the orange mat. Let the little ones land in the water before scooping them up into a cuddle. • Developing back floating from the rail, starting cheek to cheek and with noodles. (always counting to a specific number to reinforce to the little ones they will on be on the back for a limited time) From there lets add the rolling from back to front, trying rolling to both sides and tucking the chin in to roll forwards. Have a great week
