Week 9 – Baptist Churches Everywhere This week was spent in western SC – beautiful area. There are many lakes, mountains, scenic drives, and many, many, many Baptist churches. We took pictures of 5 different Baptist churches in a 12 mile stretch from Seneca to Fair Play. The boys had their first hair cut on the road. We lucked out. We noticed a dog spa and decided to stop to see if we could make an appointment. It turned out their appointment book was wide open – it was their first day that they were open for business. It is the third location for this chain. The two young girls were great. The boys look great and we are sure they feel better. However the weather has turned so chilly we might have to get out their jackets. We took a scenic highway trip one day. It was a great ride. Mountains, lakes. and some pretty good fall color. The Devils Fork State Park was beautiful. We also drove thru Clemson University. Always wondered were Clemson was. Now we know. Very nice campus. The highlight of the week was our visit with our friends from Aurora, IL. Charles and Carol now live in Rock Spring, GA (& yes it is Rock Spring, NO “S” on Spring). They live on 10 acres which includes a fishing pond. We were VERY excited to see them and VERY, VERY sad when we had to leave. An added treat was also seeing one of their sons, Tommy (he and Marjorie are the same age) and his wife Jane Anne. We are hoping to get at least some of the family to the lake this summer or maybe in the fall. This Sunday we attended another Baptist church. Again a very friendly congregation. We really enjoyed their praise singing session and the pastors sermon. He was what we imaged a preacher from the South to be – a sermon shouting preacher. His sense of humor tho reminded us of Shelby Road Baptist Church. This week we are in AL with several trips planned back to GA
