Week ahead forecast - fine start to the week but staying mostly un settled. No real sign of things settling down at the moment. The models keep hinting at very windy days for us but it keeps getting taken further south but the position of the Jet stream and its been a little since we have a big storm no signs yet of it really getting cold and snow. Sunday night / Monday Will be a cold night tonight. Temps are getting low out and we could see our first wide spread frost of the winter. Early tomorrow will be some odd showers that will be hard to shift but once they do their will be some decent and long spells of sunshine if the cloud clears some places it could hang on. into the afternoon and evening some more showers around but again they should be light and in between some decent sunny spells. Winds will be from a Northerly and North Westerly direction 10 to 20 mph. Temps will range from 1C to 9C Bonfire night The first few hours of Tuesday will be mostly dry but the rain will push in off the Atlantic for most of the day bringing some long and prolonged spells of rain. The heaviest of the rain will be during the morning and early afternoon. but in between we should see some sunny spells. Into the evening the rain should ease off, which is good news for those who have Bonfires planned. Winds will be from a Westerly direction 10 to 20 mph with some gusts reaching 30 mph. Winds will be from a Westerly direction Slightly milder day when the weather front moves across the Western Isles 5C to 10C Wednesday A classic sunshine and showers day. Rain is likely throughout the day. Winds will be strong as well 20 to 30 mph with some gusts reaching 40 mph for a time. Some sunny spells in between the rain. The heaviest of the rain is likely in the morning and evening with the best of the brightness being in the afternoon. Winds will be from a Westerly and South Westerly direction and temps will range from 5C to 10C Thursday Some uncertainty yet but looks like a deep area of low pressure will move close to the Western Isles on Thursday giving us some wet and windy weather. Winds are forecast at 20 to 30 mph to start the day but increasing by mid afternoon 40 to 50 mph with some gusts reaching 60 mph and accompanied by heavy rain for most of the day. Again some decent sunny spells in between the rain. Just for change winds will be from a South Westerly direction. Temps are forecast to range from 5C to 10C Friday Is forecast to be a less windy day then Thursday but more of the sunshine and showers. It will be a breezy day and temps will range from 6C to 9C Winds will be from a Westerly and South Westerly direction but as ever a long way off as yet so not as much detail.
