Week beginning 1st September TODAY’S NOTICES 1. FALKIRK FOODBANK: If you wish to donate to the Foodbank, please see the Foodbank boxes or poster on the Notice Board. Thank you. 2. THE MONTHLY EVENING SERVICES resume this evening with Evening Communion at 6.30pm, led by Roy and Melville, when we’ll also continue the theme ‘Light, Life and Love’. There’ll be tea/coffee and time to chat in the Hall after the service. Please join us. 3. THE RETIRING OFFERING after both services today will be for the RNIB. 4. GIFT AID ENVELOPES are in the Vestibule or on the pews. Visitors wishing us to be able to reclaim tax on offerings or donations made, please fill in your details on the envelope. NOTICES FOR THE COMING WEEK 5. OPEN DOORS! Larbert East Church is open on Tuesdays from 9.30-12noon, for anyone to take a look around or sit quietly. Friendly folk are on hand to help, chat or leave you in quiet contemplation. 6. WEEKDAY WORSHIP resumes this Thursday 5th September at 11.15am when Melville will lead the service. This short 25-minutes service is ideal for anyone struggling to come to Church on a Sunday. As it is the first service of this session, please stay and join us for tea, coffee, goodies and a chat at the close of the service. ADVANCE NOTICES 7. FLOWER CALENDAR FOR 8th SEPTEMBER: Dorothy Sharp 8. A COFFEE MORNING IN AID OF THE ONCOLOGY WARD YORKHILL HOSPITAL will be held In Larbert East Church Hall on Saturday 14th September from 10am-12 noon. Tickets are £2 available from Elizabeth Dick, or pay at the door; all proceeds in aid of Yorkhill. It is organised by parents of 89th Scouts, including Cameron’s family. Cameron is presently undergoing treatment there. All friends from Larbert East will be very welcome. 9. SUNFLOWER COMPETITION: ...... If you wish to enter the Sunflower Competition, please hand in your details to Jean Neish by Sunday 15th September. (Your name and height of Sunflower bought at the Christian Aid Coffee Morning in May 2013. Photograph if possible please.) 10. BANNER AND CRAFT GROUP will resume on Monday 16th September at 2.30pm in the Session Room. 11. AN IMPORTANT DATE FOR YOUR 2014 DIARY is Friday 6th June when Ernie Haase and Signature Sound, as part of their UK tour, will appear at the Dobbie Hall Larbert at 7pm! Don’t miss this one-off opportunity to watch the internationally famous Gospel Group performing locally. Tickets will be £20; all profits from the concert going to the Vine Trust. OTHER NOTICES 12. THE AFRICAN CHIILDREN’S CHOIR will be in concert at the Dobbie Hall on Friday 13th September at 7.30pm. Details from Pastor Michael Rollo LPC NEXT SUNDAY’S SERVICE The Morning Service at 10.30am will be led by Melville and Roy, when we continue the theme ‘Light, Life and Love. Although a school holiday the Young Church meets as usual before the service (see box over page). After the service, there will be tea/coffee and biscuits in the Hall, when the Traidcraft Stall will also be available. Please join us in worship next Sunday.
