Weekend Review Premier League Cahir Park 4 Peake Villa (A) 4 Villa travelled to Cahir today and wer’e involved in another high scoring game, they had most of the play in the 1st 20 minutes with 3 guilt edged chances only to find themselves 2 down when the defence was split wide open twice. They finished the half strong and were awarded a penalty when Gary Loyns was brought down, Micheal Butler scored to pull one back for villa. The 2nd half saw villa equalize in the 50th and take the lead in the 59th minute when Ted o Connor scored and then Micheal Butler scored to put Villa 3-2 ahead. The lead did not last long with Cahir equalizing in the 68th minute and then take the lead after a fine strike in the 80th minute, Villa pressed after this and were rewarded in the 90th minute when Ted O’ Connor struck again to earn a point for Villa. Best of luck to Gar Loyns and Jody O’ Grady who head off to Australia, they will be missed from the Villa squad. Division 4 League Bansha Celtic 3 Peake Villa (B) 1 Villa B travelled to Bansha today and we’re unlucky not to at least share the spoils. Villa found themselves 2-0 down at the break after missing a hat full of chances. The 2nd half saw Villa having 3 goals disallowed score an Own Goal and score from a great strike to the Top corner by Micheal Cahill. Youths League Borris/St.Kevins 2 Peake Villa Villa youths had a great win against their local rivals and came out on top with a lot of players missing. Scorers for Villa were Mikey Wade 2, Cormac Lanigan 1 and Jack Derby 1. U16 League Cahir Park 1 Peake Villa 6 It was the start of the league for our even teams this weekend and we had two in action, the U16’s travelled to Cahir and had a great win putting 6 past Cahir. Scorers for Villa were Colm Jimmy Pearson 2, Matthew McKevitt 2, Loran O’ Toole 1 and Connor Murphy 1. Our U14’s had no fixture the weekend. U12 League Peake Villa 11 ST.Micheals 1 Our U12’s had a big win Saturday against an under strength Micheals team putting 11 past them. Scorers for Villa were, James Armstrong 2, Henry Fogarty 2, Liam Mc Cormack 2, Jack Kelly 2, Paddy Creedon 1, Oisin O’ Brien 1 and Stephen Carroll 1. Next week’s Fixtures: Saturday 21st , U15’s at home to Clonmel Town 11am, U13’s away to Clonmel Town 11am. Sunday 22nd, U10 Girls away to Killenaule at 11am, U14 Girls away to Killeanaule at 12pm, Villa (A) Away to ST.Micheals and Villa (B) at home to Suirside. Training for Girls continues Thursdays from 6pm to 7pm.
