Weekly Branson.Com Table Rock Lake Fishing Report – July 25 July 25, 2013 at 05:59PM Central Pro Am Association Guide and tournament fisherman, Eric Prey. BRANSON, Mo., July 25, 2013 — A comprehensive weekly fishing report on Branson, Missouri’s Table Rock Lake. Table Rock Lake covers 43,100 surface acres and has 857 miles of shoreline so this report covers the portion of Table Rock Lake that most people staying in the Branson area would typically be fishing and is submitted under the auspices of the Central Pro- Am Association (CPAA) by guide(s) who are actively involved in guiding on almost a daily basis. The level of Table Rock Lake as of 1600 on July 25 is 915.88. The Seasonal Conservation Pool, normal level, of Table Rock Lake at this time of year is 917.0. Table Rock Lake by Eric Prey, FocusedFishing Branson Area: Branson: Fishing guides continue to work deep trees on channel edges and deep flats with drop shot rigs on the lower end. Tightlines UV and Chompers worms have been the most reliable baits; UV green red flake, plum and purple brown will out produce just about any color. Look for tree tops around 35’ – 45’ deep over deeper water to be the most productive areas, the closer the tree is to the main creek or river channel the better. Schools of spotted bass have also been caught in and around deep brush and rock piles on main lake flats as well, look for cover from 25’ – 40’ deep to be the most productive. Kimberling City Area: Jewel football jigs and Squirrel heads continue to be stellar in the Kimberling City area, work gravel points close to deep water from 15’ – 35’ deep. Watermelon candy and PB&J both with a green pumpkin J Tail has been effective, pick the size of jig based on depth and wind conditions but remember to work the jig slowly along the bottom to draw strikes. Squirrel heads matched up with bulkier baits have been the ticket for Branson fishing guides this week; UV Senkos and UV Hogs in green or green red flake have both been good, try a Tightlines Jig Trailer in UV green on rockier banks as well. James River: It is definitely summer in the James River. Branson fishing guides are targeting fish in their typical summer haunts from Aunts creek to Flat creek using everything from Jewel football jigs to Carolina rigs to deep crankbaits to put fish in the boat. Channel swing flats have been very productive with bot Jewel football jigs and Carolina rigs, look for areas where a flat “rolls off” into the channel to hold most of the fish and work from shallow to deep paying close attention to the bait anytime it falls. Brush and rock piles 12’ – 20’ are producing with a deep crankbait, cast beyond the cover and crash DD 22’s, DT 16’s or XD 6 crankbaits into the cover to draw strikes. Remember the deep crankbait bite can be as much about timing as anything else, put together a milk run of spots and keep rotating them until you get on the bite. White River: Deep or shallow the White river has been producing some nice fish over the past week. The deep drop shot bite in tree tops 25’ – 40’ deep has been great with Tightlines UV worms, as has the bite on deep flats. Look for areas where flat banks drop into slightly deeper water to hold most of the fish. From Campbell Point to Above Eagle Rock the Jewel football jig and Squirrel head jig bite has been tough to beat, look for banks with a mix of ledge rock and gravel to be the most productive and work both baits from 15’ – 25’ deep slowly along the bottom. Tightlines UV 10” ripple tail worms are working well in brush the Kings River, look for brush piles from 10’ – 15’ deep and make multiple casts from different angles to draw strikes.
