Weekly Horoscope: Sunday, September 28, 2014 georgianicols/weekly/2014-09-28/ All Signs Although Mercury started to slow down last Thursday, this week, it officially goes retrograde and remains that way until Oct 26. Howevah! We are not in the clear until Nov 10. Lets remember that Mercury retrograde has advantages and disadvantages. The disadvantages are obvious: Confused communications, transportation delays and silly mistakes. But the advantages are excellent: Its easier to finish old projects, study history, do research, or delve into your own past with psychoanalysis and deep, meaningful discussions over a bottle of Merlot. Do not think of Mercury retrograde as just a time of annoyances. (Which admittedly, it is.) And if you are tired of looking into your crystal bald, then toupee or not toupee is the question. Aries (March 21-April 19) This is an interesting week! For starters, many of you will run into ex-partners and old friends. This could be pleasant or not depending on how things ended. Unexpected opportunities to travel or explore new avenues in publishing, the media, medicine and the law might suddenly fall in your lap. Toward the end of the week, power struggles with a partner or close friend might occur. Perhaps this is a jealous reaction because of ex-partners who are back on the scene? Fortunately, with the Sun and Venus opposite your sign now, you can smooth ruffled feathers. (Unless you want to fight, because sometimes Aries gets a kick out of a little tussle to spice things up.) Taurus (April 20-May 20) This particular Mercury retrograde is frustrating because at this time, youre on a kick to be productive, efficient and effective in everything you do. You want to be perfect! Lord knows youre working hard to get better organized, which makes it seem unfair that this Mercury retrograde is coming along to sabotage your efforts to pull your act together. (Is there no justice?) Perhaps this is why arguments with coworkers will occur late in the week. Try to avoid these. Meanwhile, keep your eyes open because you might suddenly get extra funding, or an increase to your budget, or new electronics or computer equipment to help you at work. This could happen. Gemini (May 21-June 20) This continues to be a fun-loving time, and also a time where you can enjoy sports events, playful times with children, the arts, the theatre and yes - romance. Toujours lamour! Its the perfect time to slip away on a vacation and also the perfect time to begin a new flirtation. Old flames will be back in your life again and perhaps something will be rekindled? After all, what we loved about someone is always still there (along with what we couldnt stand, dont forget that.) Actually, anything could happen because unexpected events with partners and close friends might suddenly explode. This could be positive but there might be a flare-up. Stay light on your feet. (Which of course, every self-respecting Gemini naturally does.) Cancer (June 21-July 22) Your focus on home and family continues. Some of you are busy with redecorating projects and entertaining at home. Invite people over because you will love this camaraderie! However, all is not sweetness and light. An argument with a partner or a powerful family member might occur later in the week, especially on Saturday. Patience will help to sidestep this nastiness. Perhaps a family member is staying at your home creating tension with a partner? (When does your brother intend to leave?) The exciting news is that you might initiate a new health kick or buy something for your home that is related to your health (exercise equipment) or something electronic and high-tech. Leo (July 23-Aug. 22) This continues to be a busy time for you because you are schmoozing with others and loving it. You feel warm and friendly to everyone around you and in fact, you might be surprised to discover how much love there is in your daily world. (Who knew?) You might also be in a situation where you appreciate the beauty around you more than usual. Avoid squabbles with siblings or daily contacts late in the week, especially on Saturday. Keep your place tidy, your laundry done, and your work on schedule because an unexpected social invitation will come your way this week. It might be a chance for a spontaneous vacation or a fun date! Whatever it is will be thrilling. Yay! Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) Money squabbles with someone might erupt late in the week, especially on Saturday. These are power struggles about cash or possessions. Try to avoid them. They might relate to the fact that youre shopping more this week (retail therapy?) and buying goodies and treasures for yourself and loved ones. You might also make a spontaneous purchase of something high-tech for your home. New TV? New computer? (Not a good time to buy a computer!) Be aware that this particular Mercury retrograde makes cheques in the mail late and creates confusion with purchases and cash flow. Keep your receipts and double check all financial transactions. Be safe! Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) Power struggles with others might erupt late in the week, especially on Saturday. Oy vey. You need this like a fish needs a bicycle. Fortunately, with Venus in your sign, your diplomatic skills are strong. A quarrel with someone could relate to a spontaneous trip you want to take because something out of the blue will occur regarding short trips, siblings and daily contacts. This could be exciting but someone might feel left out? In addition, people from your past are back on the scene and this might also create jealousy or insecurity on the part of someone else. Maybe even you. Jealousy is always nourished by doubt; and doubt is the Great Destroyer. Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Mercury goes retrograde in your sign; and there is no sugarcoating this. It will attract old friends and ex-partners back into your life; but you will also be dogged by silly errors, misplaced papers, forgotten keys, missed appointments and confused misunderstandings with others. Aaaggh! Yes, this will be frustrating but these things are minor irritants. Not major. Meanwhile, an unexpected job opportunity might fall in your lap, or a sudden financial windfall might come your way. This sudden change to your finances might be negative, but the odds are it is positive. Fingers crossed. It could also be a purchase of something high-tech. Be cool at the end of the week with power struggles that might occur. Dont be scary. Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) Old friends you havent seen or talked to for a while will be back in your life. You will enjoy this because you have lots of energy with Mars in your sign now. You wont hesitate to go after what you want, especially on Saturday. Because travel opportunities abound this year (one of your favourite things to do) youre on the go! Physical activities and sports will benefit you because fiery Mars in your sign will pump your energy to the point you need an outlet to blow off some steam. Listen to creative, artistic friends because they might help you, especially with setting future goals, which is something you are focused on. Youre giving up things, which means youre going somewhere! Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) With the Sun and Venus currently at the top of your chart, you are in the limelight and looking good! A romance with a boss or someone in a position of authority might begin. However, power struggles at the end of the week, around Saturday, will require tolerance and skillful means on your part. Something unexpected that takes place behind the scenes and catches you off guard might trigger these conflicts. You are one sign that likes a predictable outcome, which is why surprises are not welcome. (And who can blame you?) Remember that you benefit from the wealth and resources of others now, which means its a good time to go for a loan or a mortgage. People will help you! Spare change? Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Your wanderlust is still strong, which is why many of you are travelling for pleasure or exploring new avenues for adventure and new knowledge. Romance with someone from a different background or another culture might begin now. Meanwhile, retrograde Mercury occurs at the top of your chart this time, which will bring you in contact with old bosses and ex-authority figures. This could be advantageous or horrific. It all depends on your past history. Remember that this is a wonderful year to improve partnerships and close friendships because Jupiter is opposite your sign. Make the most of this opportunity because it comes only once every 12 years. Competition with someone might throw you a curveball. Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20) Ask for goodies, cash and favours from others because you will probably get what you want. Meanwhile, romance is passionate and affectionate because of the placement of Venus and the Sun in your chart right now. Enjoy this! You might achieve something unusual and admirable this week because suddenly, your ambition is aroused! You are so pumped to achieve something, even you are surprised at your drive. This will make you go after something you want very much, which is just fine. Be aware that Mercury retrograde could cause problems with travel, higher education, medicine, the law, publishing and the media.
