Weekly Update - 11.13.14 What an incredible 2014 outdoor season we had this year! Goals met, friendships made and growth as a cycling community were seen weekly. It is hard to believe the outdoor season has come to a close and we are just around the corner from the start of our indoor Performance Cycle classes. Performance Cycle: These classes are designed to help athletes prepare for the 2015 season and utilize a periodized and structured format to deliver a great workout each class. Classes will begin the first week in November where we will be doing the Functional Threshold Test. This test will produce numbers that will be used to guide your training during the off-season so be sure to mark your calendars. Weekly classes, starting on 11/3, will be as follows: Mondays - 5:30 AM Thursdays - 6:30 PM Anyone can benefit from these classes whether you are a cyclist, runner, triathlete or someone interested in overall fitness improvement. Bundle Up...Its Getting Cold! Life Time Fitness is offering an incredible deal on the Cycle Club sweatshirts but they are going quickly! There are still some 2014 kits too. https://shop.lifetimefitness/Products/Sports/Cycle-Club/c/cycleClub Thank You To... I want to say a big Thank You to my team of exceptional Ride Leads! I am lucky to be surrounded by such incredible athletes and individuals who are an integral part of this clubs success. Sean Jager, Tommy Pitcher, Todd Nelson, Jen Reynolds, Melanie Perry, Melinda Macfarlane, Jen Droke, Cameron Kasteler, John Harward, Ryan Wilson and Casey Ruff...thank you for your support and commitment in helping to make this an Artistry winning Cycle Club! I would also like to thank Carl Horton for volunteering his time to get a regular mountain bike ride organized this summer. The response was great and I am hoping to build upon this for the 2015 outdoor season! Congratulations! Cameron Kasteler qualified for and just competed in the Kona Ironman World Championships! Camerons dedication and hard work throughout the year paid off as he had an exceptional race. Congrats, Cam...you are truly remarkable! Kyle Westra earned himself a 5th place podium finish in the 2014 Huntsman Senior Games in the sprint distance triathlon event. The competition was fierce, including 5 former professional athletes in his division. Congrats, Kyle...what an inspiration! Looking forward to seeing you all in Performance Cycle classes soon!
