Welcome Aboard! Please welcome aboard Michael Burman as our new Chef de Cuisine of The Plantation House Restaurant. Michael brings to the Cohn Restaurant Group a wealth of culinary experience. After receiving his A.S. in culinary arts from Johnson & Wales, Michael worked thru ethnic inspired restaurants before he moved to Maui joining the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua’s culinary team. Chef Michael has worked in all areas of the kitchen including the fine dining restaurant Banyan Tree with Chef Jojo, garde manger and banquets over the span of 8 years leading to the title Chef de Partie. Chef Michael will be supported by Executive Chef Jojo on a daily basis as Chef Jojo has been assigned to oversee and manage the CRG Culinary TEAM at both Plantation House & Pineapple Grill. Chef Michael enjoys creating dishes for guests to enjoy and working in a well organized work area. We are looking forward to seeing his cuisine flourish, teaching our staff and continuing to promote a first class dining experience for our guests. Michael lives in the west side and enjoys spending time with his daughter Emi who attends Sacred Hearts school. His favorite cuisines are Japanese, Thai and Indian because of their fresh flavors and complexity of ingredients. Please welcome Chef Michael as he starts training with our team on July 1.
