Welcome Home [[chelseafc]] Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic has confirmed his interest in re-joining Chelsea during the January transfer window. Matic made three Premier League appearances for the Blues before joining Benfica in 2011 – as part of a package deal that took Ramires to Stamford Bridge. But the 25-year-old is still highly rated by Chelsea scouts, and Jose Mourinho is rumoured to be considering a bid to re-sign him in January. And speaking amid the speculation, Matic says he would be keen to return to Chelsea if the move became available. ‘I would probably like to stay another year with Benfica, but if somebody like Mourinho wanted to bring me back to London, it would be difficult to turn down,’ said Matic. ‘It would be a great chance to prove that I can play in the Premier League.’ Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on Matic, but Chelsea are the clear front runners in the race for his signature. It’s thought Benfica would do business for around £15million.
