Shes a loving, petite girl who came to Lab Rescue with a severely broken leg. We dont know how or when her leg was broken but it didnt stop her from showering us with kisses. Two weeks ago, one of our Lab Rescue Veterinarians performed surgery to pin her leg. That surgery was not successful long term; pins are not enough to hold it. On Monday, April 14, she will have a second surgery to put in a plate for additional support to the leg. This is step 1 in her journey as the femoral neck of her left leg was also broken (her hip) and at some point she will need to have another surgery called an FHO or femoral head ostectomy, which is a surgical procedure that removes the head and neck from the femur.
