Welcome back to: Stories of Ryleighs childhood I remember back in elementary school, every now and then the lunch ladies would put stickers on the bottoms of a couple lunch trays, and whoever found a sticker under their lunch tray would get a prize. Well one day the prizes were brand new jump ropes and hoooooo man did I want a new jump rope So I walk into the lunch room determined as all hell, Im ready to win myself a beautiful rope of glory you feel me I get into the food area, and there were two entrées: Pork rib sandwiches, and corndogs. I felt a trickle of sweat escape my brow and I couldve sworn the the world was closing in on me. I just couldnt decide. I reached out for the corndog... But it didnt feel right. There couldnt have been a sticker at the bottom of that one. My body said no. So instead, I gracefully grabbed myself that pork rib sandwich, and watched as the girl behind me grabbed the corn dog tray I almost did. (Mind you, this girl sat at my lunch table.) So we stroll on over to our table feelin victorious n shit like yee man one of us could be winners. After I took the last bite of that victory sandwich I slowly flipped over my tray........... Nothing. Nothing at all. The guilt and sadness was overwhelming. I was a failure. Just as my thoughts got the best of me the girl that was behind me in line went to turn over her tray. My heart stopped. The sweat multiplied. My soul rippled in half as if an earthquake had struck my sanity. A smile spread across her ketchup stained face. I WON. I WON A JUMP ROPE she yelled. Everyone applauded her as a lunch lady brought her a BRAND NEW PINK AND BLUE JUMP ROPE AND I SWEAR TO JESUS THAT WAS THE DAY I STARTED DESPISING THE HUMAN RACE. THAT WAS MY TRAY THAT WAS THE TRAY I WAS GOING TO PICK I silently imagined myself throwing the tray at her face. But instead I cried in front of everyone and called her a cheater Thank you and join me next time on: Stories of Ryleighs Childhood
