Welcome to Monday-Fun Day! Its the start to another great week and today is all about strength progress. We had two of our ladies hit their push up goals for the week and another reach their plank goal. Of the two women that succeeded in their push ups, one of them in particular has a great story about how strength is about more than just sets and reps. We have been working on her push up for some time now, but it was not until recently that we realized what her limiting factor was. It was not strength so much as it was stability. Her wrists have never been very stable and while we kept trying to get her arms stronger, it was only once we started focusing on her wrist stability that we saw major improvements. To help, she performed some simple wrist mobility drills as well as something called a nerve glide. A nerve glide helps to wake of the nerves in a give area, in this case we focused on the nerves in her arm, wrist, and hand. Once we started focusing here, her push up improved much quicker, and she is now doing her lowest push ups ever!
