Welcome to QuickTicket Inspired by the relative difficulty - TopicsExpress

Welcome to QuickTicket Inspired by the relative difficulty encountered in purchasing and making ticket related arrangements in many parts of Africa, and complemented by our search for innovation in solutions to our everyday problems, we developed QuickTicket. What is QuickTicket QuickTicket, is a web-based platform that will serve both travelers and travel agencies, providing a real time connection between these by allowing users to: · Check bus schedules, · Reserve or purchase tickets, · Preview each bus plan and choose favorable seats, · Monitor the status of buses they book for, · And check for parcel deliveries, all online. · They will also receive bus status updates and information about their parcel deliveries via SMS. QuickTicket also aims to provide administrative, accounting and data analysis services to bus companies for inter-agency co-ordination and better management. The Impact There are currently 18 bus companies in Cameroon, with branches in multiple towns around the country. Bus travel is the major means of transport used in Cameroon, with over 90% of the population employing this means of transport according to our market research. Public Every commuter, regardless of if they wish to reserve a ticket and travel at a later date or on the same day, has to be present at the agency concerned to purchase their ticket. This is often very inconvenient as it may require that they spend a lot of money to travel many kilometers, usually through congested towns, to achieve this. Often, they go through all of this effort only to realize that their agency of choice is over-booked. They are also usually not certain when their bus is leaving and therefore have to spend hours at the agency waiting, otherwise they risk missing the bus. Agencies At the moment, most branches of various bus companies are separated and hence do not function as a single unit. This allows for inconsistencies and lapses in the management of these branches. Record keeping, accounting and data analysis is therefore a major issue that each bus agency encounters. This is compounded by the increasing number of travel companies and their agencies that are usually operating in the same areas usually with branches in multiple towns around the country. QuickTicket offers a solution to wipe out these inconveniences, save money and provide a channel through which commuters can have a real-time connection with these agencies. They can make the necessary reservations from anywhere online and receive SMS alerts notifying them of the status of their scheduled bus and its departure time.
