Welcome to my new Alberta life. I need sunglasses more often than not now. Especially in the snow. I love my quilted Carhartt overalls and think Im rather fetching in them. I have a plaid quilted lumberjack coat. Red (of course) and a furry trappers hat. I had no idea my nose hairs would stick together ... apparently I have long nose hairs? I didnt realize that wind chill could actually tighten my skin and make me look younger. I really do enjoy the weather channel and I love the hand-warmers my Mom bought me. My ridiculous mane of hair doubles as an ear and neck warmer - Im so grateful for my hair! And for the first time since 1997 my little green green Toyota Tercel - Turtle - had to be plugged in! Turns out Im not in Kansas anymore! What an adventure. Dont get me wrong - Ive had many days of feeling a bit freaked out, overwhelmed and scared shitless, but when people ask me why I would leave the West Coast to move I say this is where I belong and I feel it EVERY SINGLE TIME I say it :-)
